ʻŌpelu Ocean Adventures

The ʻōpelu is a small schooling fish found in tropical and subtropical waters, including the coastal waters around Hawaii. It plays a significant role in Hawaii's fishery and our marine ecosystem as a whole. For us, the ʻōpelu symbolizes abundance, harmony, and the interconnected care between our environment and its inhabitants. A locally owned and operated business on the Big Island of Hawaii, ʻŌpelu Ocean Adventures is centered around these values. We believe that the way we harvest food is one of the deepest connections humans have with the planet, and taking time to responsibly observe wildlife and their natural spaces cultivates a stronger respect for the delicate balance between humans and the environment. Our mission is to provide immersive adventures that offer unforgettable experiences; We hope to nurture a deep love for Hawaii, the planet, and our shared natural resources, inspiring stewardship and the same care that the land and ocean provides us. Guided by a commitment to sustainability and respect for our natural surroundings, we strive to ensure that both our guests and the environment thrive together.
